Sorta funny – just thought about Rob Blagojevich – not exactly “blog” but really close….and no I’m not going to write about him……..  

My first real topic – for those of you that moved here from outside Tennessee………..why? why did you move here?

Were you trying to escape a blue state? Was it in pursuit of a cheaper cost of living? Or the natural beauty of the countryside? The friendliness of the people? The ‘small town’ feel (depending on where you moved to)? or????

Well – regardless of the reason, I am asking you to think about why you left your prior home and chose to come here and I’m asking that you try with all your heart and soul to prevent your new home from turning into what your old one is.

I admit that while I was born here, I spent most of my life outside of TN so I’m sort of an immigrant as well……..but I am crystal clear on why I moved here and on trying to savor and maintain the environment that drew me here.

If you were escaping the ‘blues’, then please help us maintain and retain.  

If you came here for the cost of living – DON’T vote like the majority of the voters where you moved from!!!

If you moved here for the feel of the place – learn or remember some manners, teach your kids some manners, smile at people on the street, if you ask someone how they are – wait for the answer – act like you actually care how they are, hold the door for the person behind you…..

If you moved here hoping to turn TN in to something else; it is remarkably presumptuous of you to think you know best………I assure you, you don’t.
